GST will be incurred if the purchase is more than SGD400.

The cap of SGD400 is based on per shipment, so it means that orders can be consolidated from different merchants, provided that the total amount for all merchants is less than SGD400 in order not to incur GST. There seems to be no limit to the number of orders that can be consolidated; however, if the total amount for that shipment is above SGD400, GST will be incurred.

The total amount of the shipment is calculated as follows:

(Cost of Items Purchased in USD x Exchange Rate ) + International Shipping Fee in SGD

VPOSTUSA

Orders purchased in USD (including any domestic shipping fee) x Exchange Rate + International Shipping Fee is less than SGD400, GST will not be incurred!

E.g. (purchase of USD200 + USD15 domestic shipping fee) x 1.55 (an estimated exchange rate) = SGD333.25, if international shipping fee is not be more than SGD66.75, GST will not be incurred.

The cap of SGD400 is based on per merchant, so it means that we can consolidate orders from different merchants to share the base charge, so long the amount for each merchant is less than SGD400, GST will not be incurred.

To Avoid or Not To Avoid GST

Currently, Singapore’s GST is at 7%. If every shipment is below SGD 400, shoppers will not need to incur GST for their purchases. Thus, savings of 7%!!

BUT, to consolidate purchases into 1 shipment will means that GST will definitely be incurred, as the total will most likely amount to more than SGD 400. However, due to consolidating of purchases, the international shipping charges will be greatly reduced.

Bordelinx allows purchases to be put on hold for up to 30 days and VPOSTUSA allows purchases to be put on hold for up to 14 days. Meaning that, any purchases arriving at ForeverSpree’s US Address provided by Borderlinx or VPOSTUSA, within their respective holding period can be consolidated. However, ForeverSpree understands that shoppers would not want to have their purchases to be delayed for so long. Therefore, ForeverSpree will at most wait for 3 batches of purchase or 2 weeks, whichever is earlier, and carry out the shipment of the items to Singapore.

ForeverSpree will evaluate which is cheaper. Whether incurring GST by consolidating shipments or incurring higher shipping charges but no GST.

In any case where there are no consolidation of purchases and the shipment amount is below SGD 400, ForeverSpree will never impose the GST of 7% to shoppers.

How will the shipping charges for consolidated batches be calulated?

Each batch of purchase will have their individual weight. Thus, the shipping charges will be calculated as follow :

Weight of batch / Total Weight of batches * Total Shipping charges for consolidated shipment (inclusive of GST 7%)

Enjoy Greater Savings in Shipment, but incur GST 7%. Reasonable? YOU DECIDE!

Borderlinx

Borderlinx has partnered with Citibank to promote online shopping here in Singapore. GlobeShopper is a service that allows people not located in US, to shop from US merchants online and get their purchases delivered right to their doorstep. This service is powered by borderlinx and DHL, and is exclusive for Citibank customers. Borderlinx provides an US address in Ohio. However, Some US merchants does not allow the use of Borderlinx Address. As Ohio is not a sales tax free state, US merchants may charged sales tax for delivering the items.

Please Note that there are 2 types of weight calculation.

Volumetric Weight

Volumetric weight is based on the dimension of your package and is derived using some formulae.

To calculate the volumetric weight of an item first multiply the height, by the length and by the depth.
Then divide this total either by 366 (if your original measurements were in inches) or by 6000 (if your original measurements were in centimetres).

Compare the ‘volumetric’ weight with the dead weight.
You will be charged on the basis of the heavier of the two rates.

If you have received your purchase in a large box, which is only half-filled and the items are not that heavy, it is likely that you will pay for the volumetric weight and you realise that you are paying for all the empty space.

Thus, ForeverSpree will always constantly remind the merchants to pack the items appropriately so as not to incur unnecessary costs.

VPOSTUSA

A service by SingPost – Vpost. It provides a US address in Oregon for US merchants to ship within us. As some US merchants do not allow the use of US address by BorderLinx, VpostUsa is more viable.

Prohibited Items

All Shoppers must not make any order of items that falls under the probibited items list. Any shoppers who fail to adhere to this strictly will have their purchases cancelled and may also have their account deleted from ForeverSpree. Any refunds for orders that have not been placed with teh Merchants will be refunded accordingly. Please read our refund policy for more details.

Shoppers are expected to understand fully on what items that they can purchase. ForeverSpree will not tolerate any forms of negligence or ignorance from shoppers in their selection of items.

Choosing Between VPOSTUSA & Borderlinx

When there is a choice of using either services, Foreverspree will evaluate which service will charge cheaper for the shipping of the items. The evaluation includes sales tax,shipping charges and GST (if applicable).
